This policy explains how Mount Morgan Village handles personal information. We handle it in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
1. What we collect
Guests: your name, your employer, the number of the driver licence or other identity document we sight at check-in, your room and the dates of your stay, and any request or incident recorded during your stay. We do not photograph, photocopy or scan identity documents and we do not keep copies of them — we record the number only. Guests do not pay us directly, so we hold no payment card or bank account details for guests.
Enquiries: the name, contact details and message you send us through our website, by phone or by email.
Business contacts: contact and payment details for client companies and suppliers.
CCTV: we operate security cameras in common areas of the site. There are no cameras in guest rooms or bathrooms.
2. Why we collect it
To provide accommodation and meals, to deal with you and your employer about your stay, to invoice and keep proper records, to keep the site and the people on it safe, and to meet our legal obligations.
3. Who we share it with
Your employer or the company that booked your stay; our accountants, bookkeepers, insurers and professional advisers; our IT and software providers; and government agencies, police or emergency services where the law requires it or where someone’s safety is at risk. We do not sell or rent personal information and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Storage, security and retention
We hold information on systems we control, with access limited to authorised personnel. Some of our providers may store data outside Australia, and we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. We keep information only for as long as we need it or the law requires, then destroy or de-identify it.
5. Our internal systems
We use a private internal system to organise our own business records and correspondence. It runs on equipment we control, and its contents are not published, sold, shared or used for advertising. Where it accesses our business email through Google APIs, Mount Morgan Village’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
6. Access, correction and complaints
You may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or complain about how we have handled it. Write to us at the address above and we will respond within a reasonable time, ordinarily 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always at mtmorganvillage.com/privacy.
